About Exclusive Surgeries Solutions

This Network has been created because “I’m amazed by Surgeons they see us in pain, they see us at our worst and they fix us! They open us up, see the problem and then use all of their knowledge and technology to repair us.” Our society has changed and for some reason, people spend more time looking for a restaurant then researching their Surgeon.

We have made the process better, we will do all the hard work. We will “vet” them so you are only choosing from the best surgeons and the safest environment this important. Outpatient Surgery Centers have almost no infection rate and you’ll see from the rest of this website that their rates are cheaper than hospitals. The overall experience is different, it’s more intimate, there are less sick people than hospitals and in a lot of cases the surgeon is on site while you are in recovery.

We have decided to market this to Employers because in most cases they have benefits for using an Outpatient Surgery Center verses the hospital setting. Also Outpatient Surgery Centers were created for the employees that need to get back to work quickly and safely. With the move to telemedicine more patients will access their physician with use of video and other technologies.

We hope you will use this Network for all of your surgical needs and be connected to the right provider before your next surgery. Together we can change the surgical experience!

Medical Travel & Digital Health News (MTDHN): Tell us about yourself and how you got started in this business.

Kelly Webb (KW): Prior to establishing Exclusive Surgeries Network (ESN) dba E-Surgeries, We owned a nationwide billing services for Surgeons, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and Anesthesiologists, and doctors. We billed for ambulatory centers and followed up on claims with the large insurance companies to get those claims paid.

We sold that business and transitioned into working with employers, TPAs, benefit consultants and brokers to help create a benefit for ambulatory surgery centers and bring clients and patients to the walk-in/walk-out surgery centers. They’re one of the best kept secrets in healthcare for elective surgery, because they have less than 1% infection rates.

We’ve created a business called Exclusive Surgeries Network and help companies guide their employees for better healthcare at optimal locations.

MTDHN: Are any of these locations outside of the U.S.?

KW: We don’t really specialize in that, but Puerto Rico has a few ASC’s and we’re currently talking with some groups that are developing ASC’S in remote locations.

MTDHN: What are the most common surgeries or procedures?

KW: Some of the most common surgeries are Spine, Orthopedics, ENT, Fractures, total knee, total hip, ophthalmology, cataracts, breast cancer, breast reduction, mastectomies, vascular, vein stripping dermatology, skin cancer, burn debriding, skin grafting and biopsies. Patients also utilize services for plastic surgery, GI cases, such as colonoscopies which are very common with older people as well as kidney stone removal – to name a few.

MTDHN: How many surgeons are in your network?

KW: We have 2,300 board-certified surgeons nationwide. We contract with the surgeons, who are all highly qualified, well documented and board-certified.

The ambulatory surgery centers are accredited to meet the high standards expected when dealing with the public. They have less than 1% infection rate, which is much better than hospitals.

MTDHN: What are the savings?

KW: For more complicated cases like spine or Orthopedic, cases, it’s 70% savings; lower (30-50%) for more common surgeries.

We had a case study for a hip replacement where the hospital charged $135,000 for the facility, $35,000 for the surgeon fee and $2,200 for anesthesia for a total of $140,000. The same surgery at our ASC surgery center was $42,000.

MTDHN:  Tell us about ESN involvement in transparency in healthcare?

KW:  Our surgeons and ASC’s utilize the free market and charge their own rates.  We negotiate with them on each individual case and do not have a set fee schedule.  The agreed amount is known by the patient, surgeon and facility prior to the surgery. There is no surprise billing after surgery it’s all disclosed up front.

MTDHN: Does your company participate in the percentage of savings?

KW: No,we are compensated by a percentage of the procedure. We do not charge a monthly service fee. We have a set fee that we charge as an administrative fee for handling and negotiating the case and doing follow up. There is full transparency.

Because of the dramatic savings, companies will waive the deductible and copay.

MTDHN: What types of companies do you work with?

KW: We work with companies with 100 employees or larger, but we have many clients with fewer than 50 employees. We have Cities, county governments, Unions, TPA groups, trucking companies and all types of companies.

When these companies see what they’re spending every month to pay the insurance companies or for benefits, they see that 30% of that is going to 10 people having surgery. We manage that cost for them by cutting it by an average 50%. For one trucking company with 500, we saved them about $1.2 million in one year.

MTDHN: Tell us more about working with TPAs.

KW: If you’re in a commercial line and you’ve been paying your renewal with a big insurance company, and they just hit you up with a renewal fee, which means the rate increased by 40%. The way to change that is to start managing portions and segments of your actual insurance spend. There are ways to structure it, and we are part of that solution.

We’re really close with our employers and match them to doctors and surgeons and understand what they need.

MTDHN: Do employees need to travel domestically or internationally for care to access benefits?

KW: We have had prior agreements with groups from Canada and China for travel to the U.S. for surgery before COVID-19. Domestically, our direct contracts with surgeons are located with surgeons where they built their ambulatory surgery centers in larger cities.

In the Phoenix/Scottsdale area there are over 64 operating suites located in ambulatory surgery centers in that area – more than any one hospital located in the same geographic area.

The scope of need should be focused and directed to what type of surgery is needed. For example, orthopedics would be more focused toward hand, hip, knee and spine specialists that focus on that surgery. Many of our orthopedic surgeons are world renown and have patients that come from China to have surgery.

MTDHN:   How has your growth been?
