Dear Colleagues,
I am excited to bring you my article titled, “Cost Management Strategies for Chronic Diseases” in this month’s issue of the The Self Insurer. In this article, we will discuss the growing prevalence of chronic diseases in working Americans and the leading strategies for managing the costs such as preventive care programs, remote patient monitoring, specialty pharmacy management, claim payment integrity review, etc. Please find this article in the Self-Insurer section of our website, where you can access my monthly articles written for the publication.
This issue brings you Armando Polanco, CEO of Apollo Vanguard discussing his dedication to helping self-insured employers and public sector entities access affordable medication from Canada, all while navigating the complexities of international healthcare with a commitment to transparency and ethical practices.

About AMD
Macular degeneration, also known as age-related macular degeneration (AMD), is a common eye condition that affects the macula, a small area near the center of the retina in the back of the eye. Early AMD often has no symptoms and may not significantly affect vision. It is estimated to affect over 14% of people aged 40 and older and over 30% of people aged 75 and older. Late AMD, which can cause vision loss, is estimated to affect around 1.47% of people aged 40 and older and 5.7% of people aged 75 and older.
